Obtained in California in 1951, this hybrid between a Ruby orange (Citrus sinensis 'Ruby') and a Poncirus (Poncirus trifoliata) is easy to graft and vigorous.
Seedlings are heterogeneous, so they must be sorted when they emerge.
Citrange C35 is ideal in acidic, silty soils; it also tolerates lime and salinity well.
Highly vigorous, it gives excellent productivity and comes into fruit quickly. It produces medium to large fruit of excellent eating quality, with a perfect balance of sugar and acidity. With a very high juice content, it is the ideal candidate for grafting clementine varieties.
Robust, it is really only susceptible to exocortis.
Hardiness -10 °C, enough for most citrus and regions.
