About Lightly Variegated Tahiti Lime

This Tahiti lime catches the eye with green-and-white leaves, some entirely white. The fruit itself is not variegated: it is that of a Tahiti lime, for juice, zest and seasoning. It is as much an ornamental plant as a useful one, best grown in a pot so that it can be moved under cover, as it is slightly less hardy than the standard Tahiti lime.

Our observations at the nursery

Variegation affects the leaves only, sometimes turning them entirely white; the fruit is not variegated. In tasting, we found no difference from standard Tahiti lime. Harvest falls around November in our conditions.

Lightly Variegated Tahiti Lime or another variety?

For the same fruit on ordinary green foliage, with a little more hardiness (-5 °C), choose the Tahiti lime. The variegated form is chosen for its decorative foliage.
