Trivoss No. 1 belongs to the hybrids developed or selected for growers working in cold climates. Its main appeal is a small, tangy, fragrant fruit that can stand in for lemon in many uses, on a plant markedly hardier than a classic lemon tree.
At the nursery, Trivoss No. 1 comes to maturity around the end of December. We find its hardiness excellent.
Trivoss No. 1 should be thought of as a hardy citrus for the kitchen rather than as a classic lemon. Thomasville is another very worthwhile option for this kind of use. To go further, see our Citrus hybrids category.
