About Harumi

Harumi was developed in Japan from the Kiyomi tangor and a Ponkan. The fruit is valued for its tender flesh, its sweetness, its juiciness and a skin that comes away easily. It ripens in winter and belongs to the modern Japanese citrus selected for high eating quality.

Our observations at the nursery

In our conditions, Harumi comes to maturity in December. We find the fruit excellent when fully ripe.

Harumi or another variety?

Harumi and Shiranui share Kiyomi and Ponkan in their ancestry. Harumi generally gives fruit closer to a large mandarin, while Shiranui is known for its characteristic neck and its very high sugar content. To go further, see our Japanese citrus category.
