Yuzu 3 at a glance
About Yuzu 3
Yuzu 3 develops a powerful fragrance at our nursery, with a light note reminiscent of bergamot. It is a yuzu selection valued for its cold hardiness; very vigorous and thorny, it bears fruit that turns yellow at maturity and carries plenty of seeds, the real interest lying in the intensely aromatic zest and the juice. The fruit can also be used before it colours fully, for a sharper, more bracing profile.
Our observations at the nursery
In our growing conditions, Yuzu 3 proves vigorous and very thorny. We find it ripens slightly later than Yuzu de Kito. The fruit carries the powerful fragrance characteristic of yuzu, with a light bergamot note.
Yuzu 3 or another variety?
Yuzu 3 is the one to choose when hardiness and aromatic power come first. Tada Nishiki suits you better if you are looking for a yuzu with very few seeds. To go further, see our Lemons and lemon substitutes category.
